There are many industries that use Optical Particle Counters (OPC) to monitor particle contamination in liquids. While liquid OPCs have evolved with time they have employed the same general light-scattering design principles. Now, NanoVision Technology brings particle counters to the digital age, utilizing a high density two dimensional array of high-efficiency detector elements. This technology allows any background light scattering by the chemical molecules to be differentiated from light scattered by particles within the fluid. The result is a significant reduction in false-positive counts within fluids with high levels of molecular scattering. The results of using this technology are discussed.
